At these hours the African anticyclone sees itself again on the peninsula. In fact, this Sunday and in the next few days, it will wrap Italy. We are now in mid-October and yet autumn is struggling to set in. Despite the fact that in recent days the weather has still been a little capricious in some regions, the real autumn season seems a long way off. After a rather mild and calm Saturday, this Sunday will once again show a stable and resolutely warm meteorological context for the period.
A third phase of abnormal heat for our country is therefore about to open in the country, a kind of new Ottobrata that will take on exceptional characteristics. As proof, the temperatures that will occur in certain regions, such as the two Major Islands, where the column of mercury can even reach summer peaks close to 29/30°C, will take care of it. The only detuned notes will occur in the northern regions and on the Tyrrhenian side. So let’s find out what’s going on in the country.

During this day, Sunday, we will have a more massive presence of the African anticyclone over Italy. In fact, the only area still exposed to the influence of the Atlantic breach will be the northern sector. Despite this, the rains will still be very low. Only towards evening could they increase their range, thus gradually increasing. Let’s find out in detail what will happen in the next few hours in the three main sectors.
Over the regions of northern Italy we will have cloudy skies in the morning, especially in the eastern part of Piedmont, in the northwest of Lombardy and Friuli Venezia Giulia. Instead, we will have some flashes over western Liguria and Emilia-Romagna. Temperatures will be stable, with highs ranging from 20 to 25 degrees.
On the other hand, over the regions of central Italy, we will have cloudy skies with low clouds over Tuscany and Umbria. Elsewhere we will have clear skies with some clouds and some passing fog. Temperatures will rise slightly with highs ranging from 22 to 27 degrees.
Finally, over the regions of southern Italy we will have cloudy skies except for low clouds that will mainly cover the Tyrrhenian side in the morning. Temperatures will be stationary, with maximums settling between 23 and 29 degrees.
