The weather situation on the Italian peninsula is likely to be turned upside down in these hours. Indeed, the rains are ready to return from the weekend.

The weather situation on the peninsula continues to vary. In these hours, the African anticyclone could take a break from Italy, giving way to the return of the rains: what is happening.

The rains are set to return to Italy due to a disruption ready to strike today Friday October 21st. Indeed, we will have a stormy transit over our country which will particularly affect the northern regions. Despite this, there will still be some precipitation. The anticyclone will therefore distract for a moment, just enough to leave an open corridor where moist air masses of oceanic origin can infiltrate.

In the next few hours, until late in the evening and until late at night, the clouds will become more and more compact or even threatening over the westernmost Alpine arc, where the first rains are expected, especially on the hills of Valle d’Aosta, Piedmont and Lombardy. The clouds will therefore be particularly present in these three regions and above all they will once again bring rains ready to descend towards the southern regions. The rest of the North will generally be kept dry, where it will still be advisable to keep an umbrella handy, which at least for today will not be necessary in the Center and especially in the South.

At these times, the majestic African anticyclone that has been keeping us company for days will be weakened by unstable Atlantic currents this weekend. However, the effects will be seen especially in the North, while in the Center-South there will be more than anything else a partial increase in cloudiness but without significant phenomena to report. While some precipitation will fall between Tuscany and Umbria. Let’s find out what is happening in the three main sectors of the Italian country.

Over the regions of northern Italy, we will have very cloudy skies in the morning with moderate rain in upper Piedmont, upper Lombardy and Trentino Alto Adige. During the day we will have lightning over Triveneto and Romagna. Temperatures will drop, with highs ranging from 16 to 22 degrees.

On the other hand, over the regions of central Italy, we will have cloudy skies over the Tyrrhenian sectors, with variability especially on the Adriatic side. The local rains are ready to return to upper Tuscany and Umbria. Temperatures will drop slightly, with maximum values ranging from 21 to 25 degrees.

Finally, over the regions of southern Italy we will have a partly cloudy or irregular sky with a thickening mist from the afternoon. The temperatures will not undergo large variations. Indeed, the maximum values will be between 21 and 26 degrees.
