In these hours, we are going through a rather unusual weather phase. In fact, a warm anticyclone that guarantees sunshine and temperatures well above the climatic averages. In the next few days we will see a large anticyclonic field, with both Azorean and African contributions, which may extend over central and southern Europe, keeping Atlantic disturbances and colder sinks at bay. The peninsula will therefore give way to a real summer traffic jam which will affect practically all of Italy, but the effects will not be the same for everyone.

The heat will therefore be felt especially on the two major islands where maximum temperatures can approach the threshold of 30°C and, in the most interior areas, even exceed it. This off-season heat will also be felt elsewhere with peaks of 27/28°C in the rest of the South and many inland areas of the Center, while it will rise to 25/26°C in most of the Po Valley. In these hours, a vast field of high pressure embraces all of central and southern Europe and also includes Italy. This causes a stable and largely sunny phase with a very mild climate. Thus the anticyclonic stasis is due to the formation of some fogs or low clouds over part of the Po Valley, these will rise up to the Alpine peaks. The cloudiness, however, will be harmless and there will be no precipitation. Let’s find out in detail what is happening in the three main sectors.

Over the regions of northern Italy, we will have a cloudy sky from the morning, with the exception of residual cloudiness over the Prealps, the foothills and the high plains. Some local mists will still create some disturbances along the Po. Finally, even here we will have slightly higher temperatures, with maximums ranging from 22 to 26 degrees.

While in the regions of central Italy we will have clear or partly cloudy skies from the early hours of the day with daytime thickening in the Apennines. Also, some haze will cover Abruzzo and Lazio. Temperatures here will also rise, with highs ranging from 23 to 27 degrees.

Finally, over the regions of southern Italy, we will have irregularly cloudy skies, with higher densities on the two main islands. The sky will appear slightly more overcast in the interior areas of Sicily. There will be a slight drop in temperatures, with maximum values ​​ranging from 22 to 26 degrees.
