In Italy we have to prepare for a drastic climate change, next weekend everything will be different. Important news has just arrived on the weather front with effects on many regions between Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th November. Indeed, the current atmospheric circulation is close to a turning point after a long period governed by a warm and unusual African anticyclone. The cold descending currents of northern Europe push us.
These plunging into the Mediterranean will give rise to a cyclone full of precipitation the likes of which have not been seen for a long time. Moreover, it is the first real disturbance with an autumnal connotation capable of triggering intense precipitation in many regions. The eyes were particularly focused during the day of Saturday 5 on the North-East and on all the regions of the Center-South where there could be violent storms with local floods due to the high energy involved. The regions most at risk will be Romagna, Marche, Lower Campania and Salento.

Weather models have confirmed the course change with a core of polar matrix cold air that will descend directly from Greenland towards England and France, eventually reaching Italy. It will be transported by a very intense north-westerly jet stream which, once it arrives in the Mediterranean near the Ligurian Sea, will form a minimum depression which will deepen rapidly. Let’s find out in detail what is happening in the three main sectors.
Over the northern regions of Italy we will have cloudy skies with strong local thunderstorms in Liguria. In addition, some rain could wet lower Lombardy and lower Veneto, with partial clearing elsewhere, especially in the Alps. Temperatures will drop with highs ranging from 17 to 22 degrees.
On the other hand, in the regions of central Italy, we will have a partly cloudy situation, with greater densification and some rain in Tuscany. The thermal values will also be slightly lower here, with maximums ranging from 21 to 23 degrees.
Finally, in the regions of southern Italy we will have a little or partly cloudy sky, especially in northern Sardinia and in the evening also on the Tyrrhenian coasts. Here, the temperatures will be rather stationary with maximum values ranging from 22 to 26 degrees.
