In the next few hours, the rain is ready to fall again on our country under the effect of an Atlantic disturbance. However, this will only be due to a distraction from the African high pressure which has remained placid and calm over the Mediterranean region for over a week now. This weekend therefore promises to be in a different atmosphere from the past few days and it will also be necessary to strictly keep an umbrella at hand, given that at least three regions could experience heavy rain.

In detail, we can see that the rains will begin to wet the northwestern alpine sector and therefore the Lombard, Aosta Valley and Piedmontese reliefs with some light rains in the extreme western Ligurian areas. Clouds will also increase rapidly over the rest of the North and over Tuscany, Umbria and Marche, where no significant phenomena are currently expected. Finally we will find a corner of the country where it will practically be summer. This is southern Italy where the anticyclone will continue to make its voice heard.

It will therefore be a Saturday with unstable weather in the northern regions. In fact, here we will have widespread rains and showers, especially over the Alps, the reliefs of Triveneto, Genovesato and the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines. Rain showers also spread to adjacent lowland areas and some central regions. While, on the other hand, southern Italy will continue to be protected by the anticyclonic shield. Let’s find out in detail what is happening in the three main sectors of the Italian peninsula.

Over the northern regions of Italy we will have mainly cloudy skies, with showers ready to strike immediately, with even thunderstorms. Rain showers will alternate with lightning over flat areas. Despite the phenomena we will have rising temperatures, with maximums ranging from 19 to 23 degrees.

While in the central regions of Italy we will have cloudy skies in the morning on the Tyrrhenian side with some rain on the upper Tuscany. At the same time, there will be more bright periods on the Adriatic side, especially important over Abruzzo. Temperatures will be stationary, with highs stabilizing between 21 and 26 degrees.

Finally, over the regions of southern Italy we will have a slightly or irregularly cloudy sky from the early hours of the morning due to the passage of the sails. Elsewhere, no phenomenon will be reported, given that the entire sector will be protected by the presence of the African high. Temperatures will rise further, with highs ranging from 22 to 27 degrees.
