The actor has been playing guitar since he was young and trained for months to perform the classic Metallica song, however, the actor told the Radio Times that he did not perform the parts in solo and that the team had hired a professional guitarist for the cuts.

Eddie Munson, Quinn’s character, needs to distract the monsters of the Upside Down with his guitar, and next we see Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) excited about the score. The guitar solo continues as the other characters cut, maintaining a breakneck pace during the scene.

At this moment, the sky behind the characters turns red, perhaps a reference to the cover of the album of the same name Master of Puppets (1986). After the performance is over, the duo scroll down from the trailer and Dustin says, “Dude. The best. Metal. ALREADY”. Epic!

Metallica were blown away by the stage and wrote on Instagram: “We were all thrilled to see the end result and when we saw it we were totally blown away…it’s so well done, so much so that some people could guess the song just by seeing Joseph Quinn’s hands. [Eddie em Stranger Things] on the guitar. How crazy is that?”.
