The pomegranate is the typical fruit of the autumn season and moreover it turns out to be a real panacea for our health thanks to its innumerable beneficial properties. In fact, the pomegranate fruit can be considered a food with high nutritional value, even defined as a medicinal food that can prevent and cure many ailments if taken with a certain consistency. Pomegranate juice, if drunk constantly, acts as a powerful anticoagulant, which significantly reduces the risk of atherosclerosis. In addition, the fruit in question also exerts a preventive action vis-à-vis cardiovascular diseases and the combination of the various polyphenols present provides various benefits including:
– reduce electrocardiographic changes;
– avoid enlargement of the heart tissue;
– counter the accumulation of fat in the heart muscle.

The substances contained in the fruit, among which we find polyphenols, draining salts and vitamin C, have a beneficial effect on the skin. Thanks to its ability to reduce blood clots and promote circulation, it also helps to make the skin look much more toned and youthful, giving it a much brighter and smoother appearance. In this way, it is even possible to slow down the cellular aging process by reducing hyperpigmentation thanks to the antioxidants present and solving the problems associated with acne and oily skin.

As for contraindications, it can be said with certainty that there are very few of them. You just have to be careful of excessive consumption which can lead to intoxication and cause symptoms such as: dizziness, drowsiness and slight breathing difficulties but as you can very well indicate, these are only minor side effects and transients, so there is no need to be alarmed. Also, if you are on blood-thinning medication, it is good to consult your doctor before consuming the fruit.
