Warner to assemble a DC-focused team with a 10-year plan

Warner Bros. Discovery has confirmed that it will now focus entirely on DC Comics films under the new management. The studio has assembled a team that will focus entirely on comic book-to-film adaptations, much like what is already happening at Marvel Studios.

David Zaslav, current president of DC, even said that the new team already foresees at least 10 years of material on screens.

“If we look at all the opportunities we have in view, DC is at the top of the list. We have Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and Aquaman. They are recognized brands all over the world and we have the chance to tell many new stories with them. We decided to rethink everything. We restructured our business. Now there’s a team with a 10-year plan focused solely on DC. It will be very similar to what Alan Horn and Bob Iger managed to put into practice with Kevin Feige at Disney,” Zaslav said.

The news comes the same week the company announced the cancellation of “Batgirl,” originally promised as an HBO Max Original. Despite the novelty, Zaslav didn’t reveal any future productions that may already be in the works.

For now, DC’s timeline continues with Black Adam in ‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’ in December, ‘The Flash’ in June 2023 and ‘Blue Beetle’ in August.
