Warner reportedly canceled ‘New Gods’ to end Snyderverse connection

According to Variety, Warner’s decision to cancel “ New Gods, ” which would be under the tutelage of famed director Ava DuVernay, ended any DC affair with Snyderverse.

For the studio, “ Zack Snyder’s Justice League ” has officially ended all details presented by Snyderverse.

“New Gods” began production in early 2018 and involves characters from the “Fourth World,” including the totalitarian villain Darkseid.

“The situation was complicated because New Gods brought in Darkseid, and the villain had already been introduced to Zack Snyder’s ‘Justice League’,” a source told The Hollywood Reporter.

The story, functioning as a space epic, would bring well-known characters from the pantheon of superheroes, including Darkseid, Great Bard, and Lord Miracle.

The original comics were created by Jack Kirby and took place on the fictional planets New Genesis and Apokolips.

Earlier, Ray Porter, who plays Darkseid on Snyder Cut, tweeted that fans “stop harassing” DuVernay about the film and the character.

“I hope our paths cross one day, sir,” DuVernay tweeted. “If it’s not in the Fourth World, then in another.”

The projects will remain in their hands if they become active again in the future ”.
