Warner Intends To Turn ‘Harry Potter And The Cursed Child’ Into TWO FILMS, Rumored

According to Puck News, Warner Bros. Discovery plans to adapt the book “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” for the screen, dividing the plot into two parts.

Apparently, everything depends on the approval of JK Rowling, author of the saga.

Indeed, the idea had already been suggested a few years ago by writer and producer Toby Emmerich, when he was president of Warner Bros. Pictures Group, but Rowling turned down the offer.

Years later, when Ann Sarnoff assumed the presidency of the studio, the idea was raised again as a television series, but the negotiation fell through.

Now, David Zaslav is trying to convince the author to bet on the idea, with two films based on the book.

Have fun watching:

As fans already know, the plot was adapted into a five-hour play, becoming a huge hit in London and on Broadway.

In the plot, Harry Potter is now an adult and works for the Ministry of Magic, while carrying out his responsibilities as a husband and father of three school-aged children.

As his past refuses to be left behind, his youngest son, Albus, struggles to grapple with the weight of the family legacy. As past and present merge in ominous ways, father and son learn an uncomfortable truth: sometimes darkness comes from unexpected places.

For now, nothing has been confirmed and negotiations are ongoing, but Zaslav has already revealed that he is ready to work with Rowling to develop more films and projects in the saga for the cinema and for HBO Max. .

After the failure of ‘Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore’s Secrets’, the executive wants to chart new paths for the franchise.

Slated for $200 million, the sequel only grossed $400 million worldwide and is not expected to bring in any more sequels.

Recalling that the previous film, “The Crimes of Grindelwald” (2018), closed its carton with 659 million dollars at the global box office. The first film, released in 2016, grossed $814 million.

David Yates (“The Legend of Tarzan”) returns to direct.

Many years after the tragic events of “The Crimes of Grindelwald”, Newt Scamander becomes embroiled in a new plot that will take him to Rio de Janeiro and Berlin, in addition to the Wizarding World’s involvement with World War II.

The cast includes Eddie Redmayne, Jude Law, Ezra Miller, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, William Nadylam, Callum Turner, Jessica Williams, Victoria Yeates, Poppy Corby-Tuech, Fiona Glascott, Katherine Waterston, Maria Fernanda Cândido, Richard Coyle and Oliver Masucci . .

Actor Johnny Depp, who played the character Gellert Grindelwald in the first two films, has been pulled from production after allegations of domestic abuse. He was then replaced by Mads Mikkelsen.
