The production is set in the 19th century and follows Abby Walker (Katherine McNamara), “a wealthy Boston woman whose husband is murdered before her eyes on her journey west. In her quest for revenge, Abby crosses paths with Hoyt Rawlins (Matt Barr), a lovable thief in search of meaning Abby and Hoyt’s journey takes them to Independence, Texas, where they encounter many eclectic residents fleeing their own troubled pasts and pursuing their dreams.
Hoyt, meanwhile, is portrayed as a charming, slippery, playful outlaw who hides out in the town of Independence. Convinced, confident, hot-headed and a little reckless, he had a complicated affair with Lucia Montero, the local rancher’s daughter – but after meeting Abby he seems to have frozen in time, realizing she can l out of trouble life of crime.
Lawrence Kao (“Wu Assassins”, “The Originals”) and Greg Hovanessian (“Another Life”, “When Hope Calls”) will also play Kai and Tom Davidson respectively.
Jared Padalecki, who stars in the original production, will serve as executive producer alongside Anna Fricke, Seamus Fahey, Dan Lin and Lindsey Liberatore.
Seamus Fahey is in charge of the script alongside Fricke, who is the showrunner.
