The feature film is slated for release in 2021 by Shudder.
Produced by Radio Silence and David Bruckner, new segments of the feature film will be directed by Simon Barrett, Timo Tjahjanto and Chloe Okuno – with other filmmakers to be announced as the project comes to life.
After discovering a mysterious cassette, a SWAT police team embark on a high-intensity mission to a remote warehouse, only to uncover a sinister cult whose collection of prerecorded materials sets off a horrific conspiracy.
Reports also indicate that this will be the first iteration of the saga to be presented in a single, fluid narrative, with the stories linked together. For those who don’t remember, the previous entries worked anthologically and were linked by an outside narrative.
Matt Bettinelli-Opin, Tyler Gillett and Chad Villella (a trio known for the fun and spooky thriller “Bloody Wedding”) will also be producing.
Enjoy watching:
Brad Miska and Tom Owen, co-creators of the original films, return for the new project.
The first feature film was released at the Sundance Film Festival in 2012 and its success spawned two sequels: “V / H / S / 2” and “V / H / S /: Viral”. The franchise also spawned a spin-off titled “Siren,” which received positive reviews, as well as a mini-series launched via the Snapchat app.
