‘Uprising’: Netflix expands post-apocalyptic horror with vampires

According to Deadline, Netflix is ​​developing a new post-apocalyptic horror titled “ Uprising. ” However, instead of the virus turning people into zombies, it will turn them into vampires.

Travis Knight (‘Bumblebee‘) will be responsible for the direction.

The plot will take place after a viral outbreak turns people into vampires and will follow Lauren Webb, a CIA program fighting against time to uncover the truth behind this growing infection that threatens to destroy humanity.

Described as an “action-packed horror”, the film is an adaptation of the book A People’s History of the Vampire Uprising, written by Raymond Villareal.

The last version of the screenplay was written by Jeremy Slater (“The Exorcist“). The first draft was written by Jay Basu, JD Payne and Patrick McKay.
