The acclaimed horror punk ‘Upgrade – Update’, released in 2018, will earn a sequel in the serial format, according to ComicBook.com. Leigh Whannell, who directed the original feature, will look back on his partnership with Blumhouse Productions.

Tim Walsh joins as co-showrunner alongside Whannell. Reports indicate that the show takes place just a few years after the events of the original film and will expand the already featured sci-fi universe – showing an evolved version of the STEM chip and a new host and imagining a world in which the government redesigns the purpose of the device to help end criminal activity.
