Jerry Bruckheimer, producer of the ‘Top Gun’ franchise, spoke in a recent interview about the possibility of a new sequel, following the incredible success of ‘Top Gun: Maverick’.
It’s worth mentioning that Bruckheimer revealed that only time will tell if a new movie will be produced, because while he would love to work on the franchise again, the second movie took over 30 years to happen.
“I can’t say what the future will bring,” Bruckheimer said. “If you asked me in ’86, ‘Do you think there will be a sequel in a few years?’ I would have said maybe. But it took about 30 years to do that!” said the producer.
Which continued: “Well, we worked for years trying to do the second one – it took a long time.”
“And finally Joe Kosinski and Tom Cruise and Christopher McQuarrie got together, and we ended up with a movie that we love and our audience loves.”
