“Time”: M. Night Shyamalan says his new horror is “inappropriate and subversive”

Mr. Nighy Shyamalan is about to return to the horror world with the ambitious ‘Tempo’ project, inspired by the comic strip ‘Sandcastle’, by Pierre Oscar Lévy and Frederik Peeters.

The plot revolves around a group of people traveling to a mysterious deserted beach that makes them age faster than usual – and even the atmosphere of the recent first trailer reminds us of the filmmaker’s greatest titles, like “The Sixth Sense” and “Fragmented”.

Now, at an event to promote the film, Shyamalan spoke a bit about the job and said that no one has ever seen anything like it before.

“No one has seen it before, not in terms of the tone or the way it is. I mean, it’s unlike anything you’ve ever seen,” he commented. also noted that “Time” is “inappropriate” and “subversive”.

He went on to say that he was still working on the end: “I go for a lower note; how to end on a lower note. “Closed Body” ends with a dive, doesn’t it? It goes into that dark tone, that darker note at the end. The guy you thought was your best friend is the bad guy… The note stays with you forever.

Remember that ‘Tempo’ opens in national cinemas on August 12.

The film received a low age rating (PG-14) by the MPA for “strong violence, disturbing scenes, suggestive content, partial nudity and brief use of heavy language”.

The plot follows a family on vacation discovering a secluded beach where they decide to relax for a few hours. However, they soon realize that the place is aging them quickly, reducing their entire life to a single day.

The cast includes Gael García Bernal, Vicky Krieps, Rufus Sewell, Ken Leung, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Abbey Lee, Aaron Pierre, Alex Wolff, Embeth Davidtz, Eliza Scanlen, Emun Elliott, Kathleen Chalfant and Thomasin McKenzie.
