Legendary “Ghosts Have Fun” filmmaker Tim Burton told Deadline that he doesn’t guarantee his involvement in the long-awaited sequel to the film, which is produced by Plan B Entertainment.
Burton said in a recent Masterclass that while production on a Ghosts Have Fun sequel has been confirmed, the director might not be on the project. When questioned, he said “nothing is out of the question”.
“I only know if I’m making a movie when I’m on set filming it. I try to get to the root of everything. It springs from a seed and then grows, not from those statements,” said Burton: “I’m working on ideas and things, but it’s too early. Let’s see how it goes. How about that unanswered answer?,” the filmmaker said.
Released in 1988, the original film follows afterlife couple Adam (Alec Baldwin) and Barbara (Geena Davis), who have a car accident and are trapped in their country home like ghosts, haunting it.
When a wealthy and arrogant family buys the property, the couple do everything they can to evict them with the help of a haunting known as Beteugeuse (Keaton).
