This world won’t make me bad new series Zerocalcare

This world won’t hurt me: this is the title of the new animated series from Zerocalcare and Netflix. Exactly one year after the debut of Tear on the edges, the Roman cartoonist returns with his characteristic narrative universe, with Zero, Sarah, Secco and the Armadillo.

After Tearing Along the Edges, the first series project of Zerocalcare – née Michele Rech – acclaimed by the public and critics, the Roman cartoonist announced, through one of his pages, the title of the highly anticipated second animated series for Netflix: This world is not going to hurt me. It is a completely original project, which will be available on the service in 2023. And which, above all, is not to be considered as a sequel to its previous series. Once again, however, we will see the characters already sketched with the first series project, including the inevitable Armadillo, with the voice of Valerio Mastandrea.

This world won’t make me bad, a new journey in the Zerocalcare universe

Produced by Movimenti Production, a company of the Banijay group, in collaboration with BAO Publishing, written and directed by Zerocalcare, This world will’t make me bad will consist of 6 episodes. Each of them will last about half an hour and will go even deeper into the issues dear to the author, as the title of the program already demonstrates. The formulation chosen by the Roman caricaturist represents a kind of mantra, a phrase that Zerocalcare himself repeats, almost to convince himself of it, in those moments of life when one feels surrounded, without exit, when it would be more easy to make bad choices, to deny ideals and principles to get out of trouble. A phrase that everyone, with their own experiences, lives and stories, might find useful to repeat to themselves.

By sharing its cartoons, characterized by its unmistakable irreverent style, Zerocalcare has also anticipated some details about the new series. But, without revealing too much because “in truth there are news which however, if I say them now, are spoilers”. We know for certain, however, that in This World Will Not Make Me Evil, the narrative world, unique language, and historic, unmistakable characters of the Zerocalcare universe will return. Zero, Sarah, Secco, the Armadillo, the infallible conscience of Zero that we have already known with Strappare on the edges, expressed once again by the unmistakable voice of Valerio Mastandrea, will be the protagonists of a narration made of digressions, anecdotes, emotions and twists. For now, however, we will have to wait a little longer: the series will indeed be released in 2023 at the earliest.
