Pasta is absolutely the favorite food of Italians, there is no doubt about it. You can’t do without it: at least once a day you have to sit down and enjoy a nice plate of pasta. Studies have shown that, on average, Italians eat six pasta dishes per week. Whether it’s a good or bad habit, let’s tell the experts in the matter, namely the nutritionists. The first thought that comes to mind whenever we talk about this food is that pasta is fattening.

In view of the nutritional values, it is certainly possible to say that it is not the pasta in itself that makes you fat, but what is used to dress it and especially the quantities of this sauce that are used. We must therefore abandon the idea that pasta makes you fat and above all get away from those “professionals” who do not put pasta in their diet because they believe in this false idea and continue to feed false myths. The experts tell us that, as with everything, it is important not to exceed so as not to have contraindications, especially in terms of form and diets.

Pasta is also a key food in the famous Mediterranean diet: studies show that pasta eaten every day but in the right amount is even associated with a reduction in obesity. This happens because with the consumption of pasta, our body receives a better body mass index and decreases the circumference of the abdomen.

Pasta is a very energetic food, so it fits better with the lifestyle of an athlete and little with that of a sedentary person. At this stage it is necessary to inform the doses well: as an indication, a plate of pasta of 80 grams without particular seasonings except a tablespoon of oil and a cheese give us a caloric intake of approximately 415 kcal.

According to nutritionists, this would be the generally recommended dose. Some statistics show that it is young people who abuse it the most, but very often they fall into the category of heavy energy consumers. If, on the other hand, a plate of pasta corresponds to 150 grams, it is obvious that the calories that would reach our body would be such as to cover half of our daily needs. So what the experts advise us is to eat what we like the most, paying attention to the doses and not depriving ourselves of exercise at least once a day.
