According to TVLine (via ComicBook.com), Gil McKinney has joined the cast of “The Winchesters,” a “Supernatural” spinoff, and will reprise his role as Henry Winchester.
For those who don’t remember, McKinney played Sam and Dean Winchester’s paternal grandfather in the eighth season of the original production, where he met future grandchildren through time travel – a mission. which resulted in Henry’s death and led John, brothers, to believe that his father had abandoned him.
The information indicates that McKinney will only appear in the seventh episode of the spin-off. He is described as “the intellectual patriarch of the Winchester clan. Coming from a long line of men of letters, Henry devoted his entire life to the institution. However, when a mission leads to his death, his absence and the secrecy surrounding his life within the organization creates an irreparable rift in the family.
Recall that the production will be released on HBO Max on October 20.

The series will be narrated by Jensen Ackles, reprising his role as Dean. The show will explore the adventures of her parents, John and Mary, decades before the events of the original series.
Robbie Thompson is in charge of the script and acts as executive producer. Nida Khurshid and Jojo Fleites complete the cast. Jensen Ackles will return as the production’s narrator.
“Mary (Meg Donnelly) is 19 and has been battling supernatural forces since she was a child. After losing a loved one, the hunter considers leaving the family business – until her father passes away and the arrival newcomer John (Drake Rodger) forces him to lead a new team. John recently returned from Vietnam. Uninterested, he finds a new mission upon returning home, where traces of his father’s past lead him to an organization secret and a whole new war as a hunter.”
