According to Collider, iconic Lena Headey has joined the cast of “ The White House Plumbers, ” HBO’s new miniseries about the Watergate scandal.
Headey joins a strong cast that includes Domnhall Gleeson, Woody Harrelson and Justin Theroux.
The production, which will consist of five chapters, is directed by “Veep” executive producers Alex Gregory, Peter Huyck, David Mandel and Frank Rich.
The story revolves around E. Howard Hunt and G. Gordon Liddy, names behind the intricate Watergate machines under Richard Nixon, which destroyed the very Presidency they were trying to preserve. Based on public records and the non-fiction novel “Integrity” by Egil and Matthew Krogh, the series will star Headey as Dorothy Hunt, mother of four and a key CIA member. She must keep her family together as she is drawn into the intricate intrigue of her husband, Howard.
This is Headey’s latest partnership with HBO, as the actress starred in the famous ‘Game of Thrones’ fantasy series as calculator and dangerous Cersei Lannister – a role that has earned her no less than five Emmy nominations and one Golden Globe nominations.
