Various extracts from the roles of Nicolas Cage in the films are presented, from “Con Air”, through “The legend of the lost treasure” and “Ghost Rider”, until today. Nic’s agent talks about his acting and he wants to retire. He told someone to tell the studios that it was “a huge honor to be a part of the art of storytelling and myth-making.”
Neil’s character Patrick Harris convinces him to take on a million dollar role, playing his roles for a billionaire named Javi. Javi, played by Pedro Pascal, talks with Cage about his favorite movies. He has a wax statue of the actor, which he offers to buy for a small fee.
There are a few scenes of Cage playing with Javi and it all ends with the two holding gold pistols against each other. Javi says, “You are the last person I want to kill.” Cage also doesn’t want to kill Javi and they both declare their love for each other.
The trailer also features a montage of several scenes, all of which feature Nic Cage shouting his name for about 15 seconds. Then the video ends with Javi and Cage in the pool trying to say the word “asshole” correctly.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the plot follows Cage who, after the success of films like ’60 Seconds’, has hit the bottom of his career. Now he’s trying to land a role in Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming film, as he reunites with his teenage daughter and struggles to try and end terrible financial debt.
In the film, Cage develops internal conversations with his young self, who is a successful Hollywood star from the 90s. In the plot, the actor meets a Mexican billionaire who wants to hire him for a project. But he will eventually find out that this man is a drug tycoon and Cage will be recruited by the CIA to try to capture this dealer.
Initially, “The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent” was written without Cage’s consent by Tom Gormican (“Ghosted”) and Kevin Etten (“Euphoria”). Gormican sent the material to Cage, along with a note, and the actor also agreed to play the role of producer on the project.
Written as a sort of sample, the project quickly caught the interest of several producers and after a war between HBO Max and Paramount, the Lionsgate division won the production rights for the feature film, which still has no date. Release.
In addition to the script, Gormican takes care of the production of ‘Unbearable Weight’.
