Oscar-winning actress Reese Witherspoon spoke to USA Today and said she remains hopeful that the ‘Legally Blonde’ sequel will still happen and that the recent success of ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ will help spark ideas for the team on its own film. .

“I’m still hoping that Legally Blonde 3 resolves in the right way. It’s like Top Gun – Maverick: they’ve waited a long time to make another version of that movie, and I loved the nostalgia they got in there So that certainly inspired us a lot about what we would like to do with Elle Woods and ensured that we all had the same criteria that mattered to people at the time.

Witherspoon continued, “I feel like these characters are my friends, so I protect them. I would never do the mediocre version of their story.

MGM is responsible for the project. Dan Goor is also collaborating on the screenplay for the sequel.

Plot details have not been released, but the new film will bring an “all-new and refreshing take” to the franchise, whose first chapter was originally scripted by Kirsten “Kiwi” Smith and Karen McCullah.
