“The Spectacular Spider-Man 2” turns 9! Marvel president wanted to “burn the script” so badly

“The Amazing Spider-Man 2: The Threat of Electro” (The Amazing Spider-Man 2) turns 9 today, July 3rd.

The franchise was discontinued after the film’s commercial failure and got a second reboot.

In an email sent in 2012 that disclosed the big Sony “leak”, Marvel chairman Alan Fine explained to Tom Cohen (Marvel vice president of production, who serves as a go-between between them and Sony) all issues related to the sequence:

“I wanted to burn the script right after reading it,” he says.

Fine makes a list of mistakes the script made that ended up in the movie.

Discover some extracts:

“This story is too dark, too depressing… I think it’s potentially too dangerous to undermine the important events of the first Spider-Man trilogy… I think it’s a mistake to deny the original trilogy in the canon of the character’s cinematic universe. What do you say to the public? That the original trilogy was a mistake, that it was a total hoax? Are we lying to the fans? Why will the public believe in the world we have created now? He said.

Fine also complains about the excess of villains, as that’s what ended up undermining the third “Spider-Man,” directed by Sam Raimi.

Enjoy watching:

“Three bad guys? Leave me alone! I didn’t understand Electro’s hatred for Spider-Man. He feels fabricated, practical, undeserved. Why do we always have to witness the creation of the villain from scratch and come up with various reasons why he should hate the world and Spider-Man in particular? Why can’t there be some threats in the world and the hero will defend it? And this need to connect with the Spider’s past? In any case, certain rules must be developed in all of Electro’s powers. He seems to be able to do whatever he needs to do, when he needs to. Says the president of Marvel.

“I found this script tedious, boring, and I had to force myself to get to the end of the text,” he destroys.

[SPOILERS A SEGUIR]

“The alchemy between Emma [Stone] and André [Garfield] is it so good and so positive that i wonder why it is so necessary to kill her in this movie? Let the relationship flourish and take action in the next movie. Why such a rush? Their relationship was the best thing about the first movie. This depressing need to lose weight. This story, like the first movie, is so stereotypical, “he says of Gwen Stacy’s death at the end of the movie.

Finally, no script changes were made by Sony, despite all the complaints from Alan Fine. Do you agree with the president of Marvel regarding the film’s mistakes?

Recently, Andrew Garfield was asked about the public’s negative reaction to the movie ‘The Spectacular Spider-Man 2: The Threat of Electro’.

“I read a lot of people’s reactions, but I had to stop, because I started to realize that my opinion on the film was changing,” he confessed in an interview with Daily Beast.

“When I read the script that Alex [Kurtzman] and Bob [Orci] wrote, I really liked it. What happened, I think, is that during pre-production, production, and post-production, when you have a product that works and you start removing parts of it – because it There was a lot more material than what appeared in the final cut – it’s hard to keep up with the storyline. Some people in the studio did not like certain parts and they are the ones who have the last word, “he said.

With Tom Holland playing the hero now, “Spider-Man 3 – No Way Home” premieres on December 16th.
