The adaptation “A Escola do Bem e do Mal” (The School for Good and Evil) has finally been released on Netflix.
The production was released today, October 19, on the streaming platform.
In the village of Gavaldon, every four years, two teenagers have mysteriously disappeared for more than two centuries. Parents lock up and protect their children, terrified of a possible kidnapping, which happens according to an old legend: the missing youngsters are taken to the school of good and evil, where they study to become the heroes and villains of the stories. Sophie hopes to be one of those chosen and admitted to Escola do Bem. With her pink dress and crystal shoes, she dreams of becoming a princess. Her best friend, Agatha, however, is unhappy with how an entire town can believe such nonsense. She is the opposite of her friend, who however is the only one to understand her. Fate, however, plays a trick on the two, who begin an adventure that will yield clues to who they really are. This bestselling book is the first in a trilogy that shows an epic journey into a stunning new world, in which the only way to escape the legends of fairy tales and enchanted stories is to experience one of the ‘between them.

With a screenplay by David Magee (“The Life of Pi”) and Laura Solon (“The Last Hangover of the Year”), the plot adapts the saga of novels by Soman Chainani and Alice Klesck.
Sophia Anne Caruso (“Evil”) and Sofia Wylie (“High School Musical: The Musical: The Series”) will star as Sophie and Agatha — students at the titular school where youngsters are trained to become storybook characters fairies.
Kerry Washington and Charlize Theron also star as Professor Dovey and Lady Lesso respectively. Cate Blanchett will be the narrator, while Michelle Yeoh will be Emma Anemone’s teacher.
Paul Feig (“A Second Chance to Love”) is in charge of the production.
