The reboot of ‘The Mummy’ was supposed to kick off a new shared universe, but after failing among critics and disappointing at the box office, the entire project was scrapped.
However, a lot of people don’t want to see the franchise die. Universal plans to revamp the Dark Universe again with a new movie “The Mummy”. On her Twitter page, filmmaker Lexi Alexander (The Punisher: In a War Zone) said she was asked by Universal to choose one of their monsters and make a feature film.
She then decided to launch a new movie “The Mummy”, but she still does not know if the idea will be approved by the studio.
