Colin Farrell spoke in a recent news interview about the “Penguin” series, which was derived from the acclaimed film “The Batman“. Farrell said the film’s director, Matt Reeves, was very involved with the new HBO Max series and said he was exciting to work with.

“He’s so obsessed with what he’s doing, but he’s also in The Penguin series. I mean, he’s not going to direct, but he’s in the whole structure of the scripts and who’s going to direct them. And so, it’s exciting,” the actor said.

Following the release of “The Batman”, they officially announced a spin-off series for the character, with Colin Farrell reprising his role as Oswald Cobblepot, greenlit for HBO Max. The next series is said to chronicle Oswald’s rise in the underworld of Gotham City.

Lauren LeFranc (“Chuck“) is the show’s lead producer and writer, which is executive produced by Matt Reeves. In the plot, we will follow the villain’s rise to power in the criminal underworld of Gotham.
