Last year, prolific and acclaimed director Mike Flanagan announced he was working on a new Netflix series, “The Midnight Club”.
Now, via his official Twitter, Flanagan has confirmed the cast of the production’s protagonists: actors Adia, Igby Rigney, Ruth Codd, William Chris Sumpter, Aya Furukawa, Annarah Shephard, Sauriyan Sapkota, Zach Gilford, Samantha Sloyan and Matt Biedel.
In addition, legendary Heather Langenkamp, known for her work on the iconic horror “Nightmare on Elm Street,” will also join the team as the enigmatic doctor who runs a hospice for young adults.
Flanagan joins as a producer and screenwriter alongside Leah Fong (“Once Upon a Time”).
The series will be based on the eponymous book written by Christopher Pike, released in 1994, and is expected to incorporate other works by the author as well.
The plot takes place in Rotterdam Home, a psychiatric hospital for adolescents with mental health problems. A group of patients begins to meet at midnight to tell horror stories. Soon they make a pact so that the person in the group who dies first will contact other people from the afterlife.
“The Midnight Club” still does not have a premiere date.
