In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, director Nia DaCosta commented on the highly anticipated “The Marvels,” the sequel to “Captain Marvel,” touting that she has enough freedom to provide her own take on the story.
“It’s amazing. It’s a lot more freedom than I’ve had on any other project. It’s great, because we’re all big comic book nerds who want to make a good cartoon movie.
She went on to talk about the theme of the work:
“Of course it’s a lot less traumatic. But this film also deals with personal, specific, sometimes sad things. But no, it’s been amazing working in a different world, that’s for sure.
Recalling that the film is scheduled to premiere on November 11, 2022.
Brie Larson returns as Captain Marvel. The cast also includes Park Seo-joon (“Parasite”) and Iman Vellani (“Ms. Marvel”).
DaCosta, from ‘The Legend of Candyman’, is responsible for the realization. Megan McDonnell signs the script.
