“The Man of Steel”: Joseph Gordon-Levitt almost played Batman in the film

While planning “The Man of Steel”, Zack Snyder intended to create a universe set in the same reality as the “Dark Knight” trilogy.

He even met producer Christopher Nolan and got the idea to feature Joseph Gordon-Levitt as the new Batman after Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) retired.

The information was revealed by Snyder during an interview for the Happy Sad Confused podcast.

“‘The Dark Knight Resurge’ was released in 2012. At the time, I was talking to Christopher [Nolan] about our plans for ‘The Man of Steel’. I wanted to make a connection between the two films. It was not 100% out of the question. We talked about it a bit, but it would be a bit complicated because Warner Bros. had other plans for what turned out to be DCEU.

He continued:

“If we had done that, the Batman in this movie would probably have been Joseph Gordon-Levitt, which could have been quite interesting.”

For those who don’t remember, Gordon-Levitt played John Robin Blake in ‘Batman: The Dark Knight Rises’, which ends with the character discovering the Batcave.

For many years, fans have dreamed of seeing the continuation of this story, but it is now clear that the idea will never see the light of day.

It should be remembered that Warner Bros. ended his contract with Snyder after the release of his “Justice League” version.
