“The Last of Us”: the cast meets on the first day of the HBO series recordings; Check!

Filming for “The Last of Us” has already started in Calgary, Canada, and actor Gabriel Luna has released the first image of the reunited behind-the-scenes cast.

Tommy’s interpreter appears in a car alongside Pedro Pascal, who plays Joël, his older brother.

Behind them are Bella Remsey, Ellie’s interpreter, and Nico Parker, who will play Sarah Miller, Joel’s daughter.

In the original game, Sarah is shot at first by a soldier and dies in her father’s arms. And his death has a significant impact on the plot, forcing Joel to become even more attached to Ellie.

Souvenir check-ins are not expected to close until June 2022.

The production is directed by Jasmila Žbanić, known for her acclaimed work on “Quo Vadis, Aida? Oscar nominee and Ali Abbasi, whose main work is the film “Border”. Kantemir Balagov is responsible for the pilot episode.

Craig Mazin (‘Chernobyl’) joins as creator and executive producer alongside Neil Druckmann.

As of yet, there is no preview of the debut.

In an interview with the BBC, Mazin revealed that the plot will expand the gaming universe, making it clear that the series will not change the main elements of the games, but will simply provide more information.

“If you’ve ever played ‘The Last of Us’ our intention is for you to watch the show and say,’ It didn’t violate anything that I liked about the game. We’re not going to change a thing, whether at the level of the plot or the characters, but we will bring a lot more information about this universe. Believe me, the story is very large and leaves room for a lot of new ideas, some really amazing ideas.

The production is the result of a partnership between Naughty Dog, HBO, Sony Pictures Televison and PlayStation Productions, which will make its debut in creating television series.

Released in 2013, “The Last of Us” is set in a post-apocalyptic future and follows the journey of drug dealer Joel and young Ellie, the only one capable of finding a cure for the disease that has devastated the world.
