Amazon Prime has announced the release of the “I Know What You Did Last Summer” series, based on the 1997 teen slasher.
Streaming revealed that the first season will open in October, just in time for the Halloween festivities.
The episodes are already being filmed.
Based on the 1973 novel of the same name by Lois Duncan, the series will follow a group of teenagers hunted down by a mysterious assassin a year after accidentally crushing – and apparently killing – a pedestrian with their car and hiding the body.
Remember that Madison Iseman (‘Jumanji: Next Phase’) will play the protagonist:

The cast also includes Brianne Tju (‘Light as a Feather’), Ezekiel Goodman, Ashley Moore (‘Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping’), Sebastian Amoruso (‘Solve’), Fiona Rene (‘Stumptown’), Cassie Beck ( ‘Connecting’), Brooke Bloom (‘Homecoming’) and Bill Heck (‘I’m Your Woman’).
Like the film, which was loosely based on Lois Duncan’s book of the same name, the plot will follow a group of teenagers pursued by a mysterious murderer a year after a fatal accident on their graduation night.
Enjoy watching:
James Wan will be the executive producer of the series.
Sara Goodman (‘Preacher’) will be responsible for writing the production.
“The best franchises always have one more fear to give, and Sara Goodman’s ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ is a perfect update to the iconic 1997 film,” said Albert Cheng, head of television at Amazon Studios. “Our viewers will love this modern take on their favorite movie.”
“I Know What You Did Last Summer” grossed $ 125 million worldwide and had a sequel in 1998, “I Still Know What You Did Last Summer”. A third film, “I would always know what you did last summer,” was released direct on video in 2006.
