The story is set 200 years before the events of “Game of Thrones” and follows Daenerys’ ancestors as House Targaryen crumbles. The plot is based on the novel “Fire & Blood” by George RR Martin, who also joins as a creator alongside Ryan J. Condal.
The cast includes Olivia Cooke, who plays Alicent Hightower, the beautiful daughter of the Hand of the King; Emma D’Arcy is Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, Viserys’ eldest daughter; Matt Smith plays Prince Daemon Targaryen, the King’s younger brother; Paddy Considine plays King Viserys; Fabien Frankel as Ser Criston Cole, member of King Viserys I Targaryen’s guard; Rhys Ifans is Otto Hightower, Hand of the King; Steve Toussaint plays Lord Corlys Velaryon, the Sea Serpent; Eve Best plays Princess Rhaenys Velaryon; Sonoya Mizuno plays Mysaria, one of Prince Daemon Targaryen’s most trusted (and unlikely) allies, heir to the throne; and Milly Alcock and Emily Carey will play young Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alicent Hightower respectively.
