“The Good Doctor”: Antonia Thomas leaves the cast of the series after 4 seasons

According to Deadline, Antonia Thomas, who plays Dr. Claire Browne in “The Good Doctor”, will not be returning for season 5 of the series.

In a statement, Thomas said, “I think we’ve already developed all kinds of scenarios that Claire might have faced. Now, I am excited to pursue different creative opportunities.

The actress confirmed to the website that she made the decision to quit the show at the end of season three – a cycle in which her character lost her mother in a car crash and her sweetheart, Dr. Neil Melendez. (Nicholas Gonzalez) – and it was around this time that she spoke to executive producer David Shore.

On the other hand, it should be noted that Osvaldo Benavides, interpreter of Dr. Mateo Rendón Osma, was promoted in the regular cast to the next cycle.

The plot centers on Dr. Shaun Murphy, a young surgeon with Autism and Savant Syndrome who leaves a quiet country life to join the surgical unit of a prestigious hospital. Alone in the world and unable to personally connect with those around him, Shaun uses his extraordinary medical gifts to convince his colleagues and save the lives of patients.

The cast includes Freddie Highmore, Nicholas Gonzalez, Antonia Thomas, Tamlyn Tomita, Hill Harper, Richard Schiff, Christina Chang, Paige Spara, Fiona Gubelmann, Jasika Nicole and Will Yun Lee.

“The Good Doctor” is already renewed for season 5.
