Set BEFORE the events of the original film, the game will feature several different maps, including Leatherface’s House and the Gas Station.

In an official statement, Gun Interactive revealed new details about the game’s gameplay: “You cannot kill assassins in this game. During ‘Friday the 13th,’ there will be no weapons. There will be no There won’t be a big battle system where you can attack Leatherface. This game is all about survival. There will be small ways to defend yourself, but the survivor won’t be able to pick up a baseball bat to attack Leatherface. Beauty from the original movie is that unless you’re driving a truck, you don’t kill any of the killers in the story.

The game will have a very different structure to other asymmetrical horror games like ‘Dead by Daylight’, ‘Friday the 13th: The Game’ and ‘VHS’, which have only one killer per game against a handful of kills potential.

“’The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ is more than Leatherface, and the asymmetrical structure will reflect that. We don’t want to play the same game twice. You have to innovate or imitate, and I don’t need to tell you what makes a game better. And what are we going to bring back? Well, this game will have three assassins against four survivors. All the mechanics are built around this asymmetrical structure. Also, when you watch the 1974 film, you’ll notice there’s a whole family of cannibals – not just Leatherface. So it was a natural fit to have three killers searching for the victims,” said Wes Keltner, president of Gun Interactive.
