According to Variety, the 5th season of the acclaimed and award-winning series “The Crown” will begin filming very soon, specifically in July of this year.
Reports indicate that the tech and creative team are already under strict COVID-19 security protocols and that production will begin at Elstree Studios, north London – just like previous cycles.
Still without a premiere date, future episodes will feature a new cast which includes Elizabeth Debicki (‘TENET’) as Princess Diana, Dominic West (‘The Affair’) as Prince Charles, Lesley Manville (‘Phantom Plot ‘) as Princess Margaret, Jonathan Pryce (‘ Game of Thrones’) as Prince Philip and Imelda Staunton (‘Harry Potter’) as Queen Elizabeth II.
Remember the trailer from the previous cycle:
Based on the award-winning play ‘The Audience’, the production tells the behind-the-scenes story of Queen Elizabeth II’s early reign, revealing the personal intrigues, romances and political rivalries behind the great events that shaped the Second half of the 20th century.
