The blazer dress is the new trend (not to say the obsession) for fall 2022. This dress and blazer combination is among the most fashionable of the moment: just take a look on the international red carpets to realize it.
Whether on the catwalk, on the red carpet, or in everyday life, blazer dresses – willingly renamed blazer dresses – have taken Hollywood by storm. The credit, as we know, goes above all to the stars who suggested a perfect trend for fall 2022. This combination has fascinated the high fashion houses and is almost a staple of the season: pairing a jacket and a dress ( or miniskirt) is the most glamorous jumpsuit you will find in the next few weeks.
Why do they like it so much? As Andrea Lieberman explained to Harper’s Bazaar US, “The blazer dress deftly blends finesse and sensuality in a way that’s always modern and unadorned.” A seemingly simple proposal, but one that hits the mark and chases away those typical blazer working girl vibes. What happens, however, if it is combined with a mini-dress or used as such?

A very recent inspiration comes from Elizabeth Banks, a Hollywood actress who wore a blazer dress for the premiere of The View wearing a design by Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini. The gray dress with blazer is part of the brand’s Fall/Winter 2022 collection. To complete the look, in this case, the accessories: latex gloves and shiny total black neckline.
Diane Kruger took to the Hollywood Walk of Fame with her boyfriend Norman Reedus. For the ceremony, he dusted off the houndstooth charm by offering a blazer dress with double-breasted jacket from Self-Portrait. Additionally, the actress offered Alaia heart-toe slingbacks and total black Prada clutches. Heidi Klum also followed the trend, showing how to combine a blazer dress with animal print, crocodile texture and sprinkled with colored rhinestones. Her look is by Falguni Shane Peacock India: in jumpsuit, the model chose black velvet thigh-high boots.
The look offered by Emma Watson and Milly Alcock present at the Prada Paradoxe launch party is also very similar. Both thrown into the entertainment world (some for Harry Potter and some for House of the Dragon), they followed the fall trend by opting for a smoky gray blazer dress. Emma Watson accompanied the jacket with a mini dress embroidered with lace and a white collar. Milly Alcock teamed up with a white shirt instead. Lily James, on the occasion of the Toronto International Film Festival, unveiled a blazer dress with a total black Victoria Beckham double-breasted jacket, which she associated with Casadei velvet thigh-high boots.
