‘The Batman’ will take place on Earth-2 from the DC Comics multiverse

Since production began on “The Batman,” it has been speculated that the adaptation will take place in an alternate universe, separate from the main DC Comics films.

And that was just confirmed after several rumors pointed out that Warner Bros. would develop films in other realities of the multiverse.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, sources related to the production said that:

“DC continues to program its films in the same shared universe. Except ‘The Batman’, which takes place in an alternate Earth known to geeks as Terra-2. The key to the new status quo will be presented in “The Flash” … “

The information was also triggered last year by the president of DC Filmes, Walter Hamada, during the DC FanDome.

Commenting on the studio’s future plans, Hamada said:

“On one Earth we have Gal [Gadot], Jason [Momoa] and Ezra [Miller] working with the “Justice League”. But we’ll also have stories on another Earth, with a more realistic Batman, ”he said, referring to Robert Pattinson’s Batman.

For those who don’t know, Terra-2 is just one of many realities in the DC Multiverse, featuring the same characters with different personalities and storylines, like different origin stories.

Recently, director Matt Reeves released a new behind-the-scenes image from “The Batman” to commemorate the end of the recordings.

After several breaks due to issues related to the coronavirus pandemic, the main photograph has finally been taken in the UK.

In the caption of the post, the filmmaker used tags to confirm the #movies of the long-awaited DC Comics movie.

Recalling that the premiere date remains scheduled for March 2022.

According to Walter Hamada, the director of DC films, “The Batman” will be set in another Earth and not be part of the DCEU.

“In the multiverse, there is an Earth with the version of Justice League with Gal [Gadot], Jason [Momoa] and Ezra [Miller], and another with Pattinson’s Batman ”.

As a result, franchises will not have a crossover and will follow different paths.

Besides Robert Pattinson, the cast includes Andy Serkis (Alfred), Zoe Kravitz (Catwoman), Paul Dano (Charade), Jeffrey Wright (Commissioner Gordon), John Turturro (Carmine Falcone), Peter Skarsgaard, Jayme Lawson, Gil Perez- Abraham and brothers Max and Charlie Carver.

The plot will focus on Bruce Wayne developing his detective skills.
