The woman responsible for the attack in Istanbul’s shopping street was arrested along with 21 other people. She is of Syrian nationality and is called Ahlam Albashir.

The six people who lost their lives in the attack, which took place on Istikal Street in the Taksim neighborhood on the European side, are all Turks. This was announced by the prefect of the city Ali Yerlikaya, expressing his closeness to the families of the victims. Among the dead are a mother and daughter, a father and daughter, a married couple and one other person. Of a total of 81 injured, 50 have been discharged from hospital, while 31 are still hospitalized in serious condition, he added.
