Unfortunately, at least for fans of the horror genre, we still have no confirmation as to when the feature will be released in Brazilian cinemas, but the first can be viewed on streaming platforms and via digital rental – either on Looke, or even on YouTube and iTunes.

And taking a look at this event which impressed and made many curious to want to discover the production, we separate here 10 (ten) films which also provoked reactions as heavy or even more intense than those of ‘Terrifier 2’.

Remember that we mainly focus on films that are part of horror, because titles of other styles have also managed to generate these discomforts. Of course, we will also tell you where you can watch the works cited.

Psycho (1960) – Star+

Enjoy watching:

People are terrified in theaters to the point of feeling sick in cases that haven’t started recently, because in the 1960s the master Alfred Hitchcock froze many people with the greatest classic of suspense, ‘Psycho ‘. Newspapers at the time reported that the well-known shower scene, in which Marion Crane (Janet Leigh) is murdered by Norman Bates (Anthony Perkins), generated such discomfort that people passed out and ran outside. rooms after seeing the horror on screen.

The Exorcist (1973) – HBO Max

Another classic of the genre, “The Exorcist”, was one of the forerunners of the style to bring mega realistic special effects. In addition to some believing that everything that was filmed was true, there are several reports of viewers feeling ill during the first screenings of the feature film, there in the 1970s. There were screams, screams and some even fainted. Even today, William Friedkin’s masterpiece remains terrifying.

The Blair Witch Project (1999) – Star+

Also betting on the idea that the images were about real cases, but using them as a marketing tool, where recordings were found with young people missing in a forest, “The Blair Witch Project” terrified the dreams of those who have checked it out for many years, the longest at the time.

By bringing in the artifice of the found footage style, where plasticity is not a concern, thus giving a documentary air, everything seen in the feature film really seemed to have happened and left the audience in awe. Warnings that viewers going to see the film might get sick ended up serving as a lure to attract audiences around the world.

V/H/S (2012) – Amazon Prime Video

It was reported by media outlets such as Dailymail that during the screening of ‘V/H/S’ at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival, ambulances were called to attend to some people who had fallen ill from the images seen in the film. The production is actually a collection of shorts, with stories ranging from demonic apparitions, mythological creatures such as vampires, and spirit cases. During the session, a man fell ill during and suffered from epileptic seizures, as recounted by one of the authors of the title, Simon Barrett.

Goodnight Mom (2014) – Apple TV

‘Good Night Mom’ recently won an American remake starring Naomi Watts, and it’s no coincidence, since the 2017 Austrian film, where two twin brothers fail to recognize their mother after she undergoes reconstructive surgery facial, left people who saw it very shocked. In the plot, the children begin to have extremely violent attitudes towards the woman, which even caused two people to pass out in one sitting, according to the director of the feature film, Severin Fiala: “It’s the best compliment we have received so far”. So, do you dare to check it out?

Grave/Raw (2016) – Was available on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video

After being bullied in college with students eating rabbit liver, a girl who was a vegetarian becomes cannibalistic and begins committing horrific atrocities, revealing a family secret that was kept locked up. The feature film written and directed by the French Julia Ducournau was presented at the Toronto Film Festival and made several people very sick during the session. The film features explicit lacerations, severed limbs and lots and lots of blood! Which made some people unable to bear it and the paramedics were hurriedly called.

Despair (2011)

Also at the Toronto Film Festival, the feature ‘Despair’ was screened, featuring three cooks trapped in an asylum during a storm and attacked by the hospitalized, living in a veritable pandemonium, with subjects beyond beyond weird. The experiment caused two people to pass out, with one scene showing the cooks being trapped in a stove and then being burned alive, causing impressive discomfort. Who is able to see?

Saw 3 (2006) – Star+ | HBO Max | Amazon Prime Video

The “Saw” franchise has always been known for having a lot of gore, extreme graphic violence, and is even accused of being so appealing. When the third movie in the series was released in 2006, some people couldn’t even finish seeing the feature, abandoning theaters.

The head of the British emergency service even asked people to assess whether they could really watch the film, because in a single day three ambulances were called to help some spectators who ended up fainting or having nausea during the session. It’s probably the most shocking film in the franchise, which will soon be in its tenth chapter.

Annabelle 2 (2017) – HBO Max

This case is one of the best because during a screening of ‘Annabelle 2’ in Piauí, here in Brazil in 2017, a woman said she was possessed after watching the second film of the scariest doll the cinema. She started to feel bad, threw herself on the ground and started screaming. In the United States, it has also been reported that many people have started showing unusual behavior, to the point of being rushed to hospital, after suddenly fainting. The second movie managed to erase the very weak original feature and today the franchise is still alive.

The Conjuring 2 (2016) – HBO Max

Obviously, James Wan couldn’t be left out of the list, as some of the franchises he created spawned films already mentioned here, such as “Saw” and “Anabelle.” In the second feature of its most successful horror franchise, “The Conjuring 2”, during a session in India, a guy died in the city of Tiruvannamalai. In the specific situation, he felt sick after being scared and died before the ambulance even arrived at the cinema. So far this has to be the most extreme case as the Indian would probably have heart problems.
