All roads have led to this.

We all have been waiting for the release of Ted Lasso season 3. And it’s actually quite close. Season 3 of Ted Lasso will premiere on March 15, 2023. One thing that seems certain is that the show is receiving a lot of positive feedback from audiences.

And it’s just going to increase. However, there have been some recent updates to this sports drama. The third season will have a total of 12 episodes. The streaming platform and the show’s creators are both hopeful about the third season.

Ted Lasso is about an American football coach who is recruited to manage a British soccer team. A work in which he appears to lack expertise.

But he compensates for his lack of knowledge with positivity, determination, and biscuits. It’s actually a pretty fun ride to watch the characters.

‘Ted Lasso’ Season 3 Is The Finale

Ted Lasso season 3 will be the show’s final season, according to recent revelations. The characters’ journey is coming to an end. Though the streaming platform AppleTV+ has not commented on this, the co-creator has shed light on the situation.

According to the show’s star and co-creator, Jason Sudeikis, season 3 is the end that they wanted to tell.

He confirmed, “This is the end of this story that we wanted to tell, that we were hoping to tell, that we loved to tell.”

He also noted that audiences will understand the reason for the story’s conclusion after the season 3 finale on May 31, 2023.

“The fact that folks will want more and are curious beyond more than what they don’t even know yet—that being Season 3—it’s flattering. Maybe by May 31, once all 12 episodes of the season [have been released], they’re like, ‘Man, you know what, we get it, we’re fine.

We don’t need anymore, we got it.’ But until that time comes, I will appreciate the curiosity beyond what we’ve come up with so far.”

We Might Get A Spinoff Of ‘Ted Lasso’

It’s heartbreaking to know that such an extraordinary and renowned drama will be winding down, but star Jason has hinted at a possible spinoff.

He said, “I mean, there’s always Cameo, right?”

He continued, “Yeah, I think that we’ve set the table for all sorts of folks…to get to watch the further telling of these stories. Again, I can’t help but take the question as flattery for what all of us that were working on the show have tried to do.

It’s really kind of folks to even consider that because you never know what’s gonna happen when you make things. The fact that people want more, even if it’s a different avenue is lovely.”

When asked about another season in September, the co-creator told reporters that he didn’t know if it would end.

“I don’t know. It’s up to more factors than myself. The response has been overwhelming. We have a tremendous group of writers, actors, and people in production and post-production, all of those thrown in the jambalaya of possibility. I couldn’t say yes or no. If I knew, I wouldn’t tell you.”

Ted Lasso Is ‘Planned As Three’

In another interview, Brett Goldstein said, “We are writing it like that. It was planned as three. Spoiler alert: everyone dies.”

Hannah Waddingham also talked about wrapping things up and that it’s hard to say goodbye.

She said, “We are halfway through shooting Season 3 and I would like to pause things because I’m not ready to say goodbye to [Rebecca]. Brett and I were talking about [saying goodbye] earlier and we’re both a little bit in denial. It’s like a long, slow mourning.”

Looks like the show is finally ending. Seeing these characters develop has been an incredible journey. But there’s still an entire season to go, and we can’t wait to see the finale.

In the meantime, you’re welcome to check back with us for more content. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for a spinoff show.
