“Godzilla vs. Kong ‘surprised and has already raised 193 million dollars on the international market. The success is mainly due to China, where the crossover raised an impressive $ 99 million.
Despite being released simultaneously on HBO’s streaming service Max, the film surprised the US box office, raising US $ 9.6 million on its first day of release on Wednesday (31) – which represents the BEST start in the country since the start of the COVID pandemic in March 2020.
On Thursday, the film raised an additional $ 6.7 million, bringing its total to $ 16.3 million in two days.
Until Sunday, the film could make between 30 and 40 million dollars.
The previous record was from the “Wonder Woman 1984” sequel, which debuted with $ 7.5 million in December.
