After ‘Rogue One’ screenwriter Tony Gilroy announced his departure from the role of director of the ‘Star Wars: Andor’ series, Disney + decided to hire not just one, but three directors to direct the episodes.
According to Discussing Film, the studio had already chosen Toby Haynes (“Black Mirror: USS Callister”) as director of the first three episodes, as well as as showrunner.
Now two more names have been added to help you: Ben Caron and Susanna White.
Caron is best known for directing a few episodes of “The Crown” and “Skins”, and White’s credits include the series “Generation Kill”, “Boardwalk Empire” and “Billions”.
To date, no further details have been revealed, but updates are expected to be released over the next few months as production is already under development.
Previously, protagonist Diego Luna revealed to THR the surprising fan challenges, as fans already know about Cassian Andor’s fate.
“Although we already know the end of this story, I think it’s really interesting to tell the story and where Cassian came from. I think that’s our biggest challenge: to surprise the audience. But that’s a very appealing idea, because the show allows us to dig deeper into the characters, so you can better understand them and find out what they’re capable of. As an artist, there is nothing more exciting for me than showing the different sides of the same character.
He also compared the series to the original film and said the pull was as intense and exciting as the feature film.

“I have to be very careful in my response to everything because I cannot deliver spoilers. But the series is as intense as the movie [‘Rogue One‘]It’s exciting. The way we shoot reminds me of when I recorded “Rogue One”… The work is just as intense as it was back then, you know? It always leaves me with the feeling that we are making a new movie.
Recalling that the first season of “ Andor ” will have 12 episodes scheduled for the premiere in 2022.

The plot will follow the adventures of Cassian Andor during the rebellion’s early formative years, before the events of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”. The gripping thriller will explore tales of espionage and daring missions to restore hope to the galaxy under the grip of a ruthless empire.
In addition to Luna, the cast includes Genevieve O’Reilly, Adria Arjona (‘Squadron 6’) Denise Gough (‘Guerrilla’), Stellan Skarsgård (‘Chernobyl’) and Kyle Soller (‘The Titan’).

Originally, the character was introduced in ‘Return of the Jedi’ (1983), played by Caroline Blakiston.
So far, details on the characters of Gough, Arjona, Skarsgård and Soller have not been revealed.
