Netflix has already shown that it is not afraid to invest in its films, after paying $ 400 million for two “Between Knives and Secrets” sequels. But streaming requires quality.
After confirming movie sequels like “Rescue” and “Old Guard,” there’s a blockbuster that won’t have a sequel.
‘Squad 6’, a $ 170 million film by Michael Bay, will not have a second installment.
Despite 83 million views (more than “Old Guard” and “Enola Holmes”), the film disappointed Netflix Original Movies Manager Scott Stuber.
“We don’t feel like we got there in a creative way.” It was a good shot, but at the end of the day we didn’t feel like we had hit the target to warrant the comeback. There just wasn’t that deep love for these characters or this world. We know the audiences are there for these movies, but I want people to feel that impact in their conversations with their friends and colleagues. ‘Old Guard’ was a film that achieved this goal, for example… ”he said.
Would you like to see a sequel to “Squad 6”?
