“Spider-Man: No Return Home” set a new record by beating the box office of “Batman: The Dark Knight” in North American theaters.

According to Deadline, the sequel starring Tom Holland took the 12th position among the highest grossing films in the United States and Canada with $ 536.5 million.

Prior to that, the post was for the 2008 film directed by Christopher Nolan, which grossed $ 534.8 million domestically.

He’s now close to “Spider-Man 3” to overtake live-action “The Lion King” (2019), which takes 11th place with $ 543.6 million.

As the Sony / Marvel Studios adaptation continues with great force, it is possible that it will reach No. 10 on the list, taking the place of “The Incredibles 2” ($ 608.5 million).

Recall that “Spider-Man: No Back Home” is still showing in theaters and has already accumulated $ 1.161 billion worldwide.
