When Italians ask what food they would never give up, most of them answer spaghetti. In fact, it is a food that is eaten at least once a day, because it has the ability to satiate us without making us spend too much time behind the stove. In fact, even with simple condiments, he manages to make us taste an excellent dish that has always belonged to the tradition of Italian cuisine.

But, at the same time as a large consumption, there is also the other side of the coin which affects this food: in fact, there are more and more reports coming from the Ministry of Health which, every day, make us discover that there are many brands involved in this scandal. It is the presence of glyphosate. Glyphosate is one of the most dangerous pesticides that exist for the human body. On the basis of these declarations, the experts of the sector carried out numerous analyzes on numerous samples of spaghetti: it emerged that, especially in pasta in general but especially in that in the form of spaghetti, a significant quantity of this substance is present.

These are always quantities that do not exceed the maximum percentage dictated by law, but despite this it is not possible that it will go unnoticed. This toxin is capable of causing serious gastrointestinal problems in humans, but in severe cases it also leads to poisoning and internal damage. Precisely for these reasons, more and more experts in the sector are devoting part of their time to the scientific dissemination of the data they have acquired, in order to raise maximum awareness among the population to make an informed and correct expenditure.

The first step, of course, is to read the label carefully: in fact, it is able to provide us with a lot of information about the product we want to buy, first of all the list of ingredients and the processes undergone. Glyphosate is a harmful substance derived from a pesticide used mainly for the cultivation of raw materials such as cereals. The AIRC has mentioned this substance many times, repeatedly listing all the non-benefits it causes in the human organism.

Despite this, the competent authorities have never received the official news that it is a carcinogen. But it is essential that, even in this condition of uncertainty, consumers and the general public are made aware of this remote possibility and what its hiring could entail. The best would be to specify the presence of this toxin on the label, in order to allow the consumer to make an informed choice.
