HIT! After another solid week at the box office, “Sorria” has reached $166.2 million worldwide, making it the BIGGEST horror movie of the year.
In less than a month, the Paramount Pictures original feature managed to surpass the box office totals of “Scream” ($140 million) and “The Black Phone” ($159.5 million).
In the United States, the film earned $84.3 million. In the international market, it was $81.9 million.
It’s worth remembering that production was down ONLY -18.3% in the second weekend, which is the second highest retention in history for a horror movie – only behind “Get Out “, which saw a -17% drop in its second weekend. in 2017.
With a budget of just $17 million, horror can already be considered another hit in the genre and, perhaps, the start of a new blockbuster franchise.
