“Sonic 2 – The Movie”: the director celebrates the end of the recordings with a beautiful backstage image; Check!

On his Twitter profile, ‘Sonic 2 – The Movie’ director Jeff Fowler posted a lovely behind-the-scenes image to celebrate the end of filming.

Production of the sequel has been very rapid, starting in March, in Vancouver, Canada. Shortly after, the team left for Hawaii, where the last takes were filmed.

Recall that the official synopsis of ‘Sonic 2 – The Movie’ was published on the official website of the US Copyright Office and provides very interesting information on the sequel.

As has been speculated, the new movie will bring Knuckles as a villain along with Dr. Robotnik, while Sonic will team up with Tails to stop the duo from trying to take over the world.

Previously, a Twitter page devoted to the news of the adaptation aired the first images of Tails (the fox) and Knuckles (the red echidna), two of the most famous sprinters in the game franchise.

Additionally, James Marsden and Tika Sumpter were also pictured running.

According to the comic, Jason Momoa (“Game of Thrones”, “Aquaman”) was asked to voice Knuckles, who in the games becomes an ally of the swift blue hedgehog.

The character in the film will be true to his portrayal in the video game series, which means he’ll be a serious character, and Paramount believes Momoa is perfect for the role.

“For the first movie, we were just looking at the 1991 game and seeing where it all started to keep it simple. We really tried to understand Sonic and Robotnik well and create their rivalry. We tell the origin story a bit, making everyone fall in love with him as a character and ask for more. And so, now we can open up and bring in some of these other characters that the fans know and love. And yes, I mean, no one is more excited than me to have this opportunity. Fowler told ComicBook.

Remember that Ben Schwartz (“Parks and Recreation”) voices Sonic. The cast of the original film also includes Jim Carrey, Adam Pally, and Neal McDonough. Directed by Jeff Fowler.

First released in 1991, the game “Sonic” has sold over 360 million copies in various formats.
