HIT! Horror ‘Sorria’ managed to surpass the impressive US$200 million mark at the global box office.

The Paramount Pictures original surpassed the box office totals of ‘Scream’ ($140 million) and ‘The Black Phone’ ($159.5 million) – making it the highest-grossing genre in 2022.

In the United States, the film earned $99.1 million. In the international market, it was $103.8 million.

It’s worth remembering that production was down ONLY -18.3% in the second weekend, which is the second highest retention in history for a horror movie – only behind “Get Out !”, which saw a -17% drop in its second weekend of 2017.

With a budget of just $17 million, horror can already be considered another hit in the genre and, perhaps, the start of a new blockbuster franchise.
