Hit! Horror ‘Sorria’ is expected to remain at the top of the North American box office. According to Deadline, the film is expected to gross $13.2 million in its second weekend in the country.
The result will represent a drop of only -42% compared to its debut. Typically, horror movies tend to see second-weekend drops of -60%, so the retention of “Smile” is impressive.
The Paramount Pictures feature should also move the premiere of the “Lilo, Lilo Crocodile” adaptation, starring Shawn Mendes. The children’s comedy is expected to debut at number two with $11 million.
Recall that ‘Sorria’ has already raised nearly 50 million US dollars worldwide. With a budget of just $17 million, the feature can already be considered another hit in the genre and, perhaps, the start of a new horror franchise.
